Lesson 1.
Early Morning in Padua
In this lesson, you will learn how to simplify architecture into expressive shapes and value blocks, apply lifting to bring out light from dark washes and create strong contrasts, and control composition using negative space and texture.
As a result, you will learn to paint urban scenes with clarity and atmosphere, evoking light and depth without tight outlines.

Lesson 2.
Alpine Village
Here, you will move on to learning how to work from dark to light applying opaque watercolor, suggest form and detail using texture, not precision, and balance warm and cool tones in a natural setting.
The lesson will help you gain confidence in painting mountains and village elements expressively, with a freer and more modern feel, and master the art of conveying texture in architectural elements.

Mediterranean Visions

for the course?
These are only some suggestions to understand what could be the material I will use.
Paper: Hahnemuhle “Le Rouge”- NOT cotton – 100% acid free- 325 g/sqm 30x40 cm (or Canson XL Watercolor)
Brushes : every kind of brush: natural, synthetic, round, flat, small, big, chinese, mop, hake, liner, etc …
Colours : (I use Roman Szmal Aquarius watercolour godets)
Ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, ceruleum blue, phthalo blue, cobalt turquoise, lavender, burnt Sienna, burnt umber, yellow ochre, lunar black, yellow Naple, titanium white, pyrrol orange, hansa yellow, yellow cadmium, quinacridone pink, (goethite*, transparent red oxide*)
