Liu Yi

  • Liu Yi, a celebrated contemporary Chinese painter and educator, whose renowned ballerina series has captivated art lovers around the world.
  • Born in Shanghai in 1958, Liu Yi has held esteemed positions such as Deputy Director of the Watercolor and Gouache Arts Committee of the Shanghai Artists Association and Deputy Dean of the College of Art & Design at Shanghai Institute of Technology

Yuko Nagayama

Yuko Nagayama
  • Yuko Nagayama is a highly acclaimed Japanese watercolor artist and instructor, recognized internationally for her fresh and luminous style.
  • With a background in design and fine arts, she masterfully blends Eastern sensitivity with Western techniques, creating paintings that are both vibrant and contemplative.
  • Yuko regularly exhibits her works in international exhibitions, teaches workshops globally, and is admired for her ability to translate fleeting impressions into expressive and harmonious compositions.

Eugen Chisnicean

Eugen Chisnicean
  • Eugen Chisnicean, born in 1984 in a small Moldovan town, began his formal art training at just 11 years old when he entered the Children's School of Fine Arts. By age 16, he moved to Chisinau to study interior design and architecture at the Institute of Arts.
  • While his early education solidified his technical foundation, it was in 2007 that watercolor captured his heart. Through dedicated practice, he forged a distinctive style that would carry him into the international exhibition circuit.
  • By 2010, he was invited as a guest of honor at the 4th Salon de l’Aquarelle du Haillan in France. He graduated in 2012 from the Academy of Arts in Chisinau with a major in painting and has since painted and taught workshops across Europe and Asia.

Elke Memmler

Elke Memmler
  • Elke Memmler, born in July 1962 in Stuttgart, is a freelance watercolor artist living in the picturesque Hohenlohe region between Swabia and Franconia, Germany. After completing her Abitur with a focus on fine arts, she trained extensively at the Academy of Arts in Schwäbisch Hall—immersing in figure drawing, art history, etching, and mixed media.
  • Since 2008, she has worked independently, organizing international painting seminars and teaching her distinctive style—what she calls “watercolor expressionism.” Her aim is not to replicate reality, but to express the moment’s atmosphere through vibrant color and form.A member of the Schwäbisch Hall Academy (since 1997) and the Watercolor Club (since 2013), she bridges both academic depth and expressive freedom.

Lorraine Simonds

Lorraine Simonds
  • A Canadian watercolorist known for her expressive portraits and exploration of human emotion.
  • Her work has been exhibited in juried shows, including Women in Watercolor and the Federation of Canadian Artists.
  • An Exhibiting Member of the FCA and BC Representative of the International Watercolor Society Canada.
  • Shares her expertise through workshops, mentorship programs, and online tutorials.

Ken Goldman

Ken Goldman
     
  • An American artist, author, and educator known for his mastery in watercolor, drawing, and figure work.
  • Former President of the National Watercolor Society and Signature Member of AWS, NWS, TWSA, and WW.
  • Ken has exhibited internationally — from Europe to China — and his work is in museum collections including the San Diego Museum of Art.
  • He is the author of over 16 instructional art books and a long-time instructor at the Athenaeum School of the Arts, inspiring thousands of students worldwide.
