Animalistics, or animal painting, is one of the most favorite genres of thousands of artists. Soft, fluffy, and so cute, animals just can't leave us indifferent!
Together with Irina Kukrusova, you will study the nuances of painting different animals and learn how to show their character. You will be able to create soft realistic fur without too much detailing, make lively eyes and wet noses.
During the course, you will paint 3 delightful portraits – of a rabbit, a cat, and a dog. In separate lessons, you will learn the basics of making a pencil drawing, and then step by step perform the watercolor part. Under Irina’s able guidance, you will receive a lot of positive emotions and useful tips!

Lesson 1
Introduction
An introduction to our learning platform and an overview of the materials used in this course.
Lesson 2
Rabbit. Part 1
Will learn the basics of portraying an animal from general to particular and make a pencil drawing.
Lesson 3
Rabbit. Watercolor part
Will learn how to paint the softest, most delicate rabbit fur so that it looks realistic. For this you will not even need to depict each hair! You will also see how to paint fluffy cheeks and velvety ears and understand how to finish portraits correctly so that they look alive.
Lesson 4
Ragdoll Kitten. Part 1
Will practice drawing from general to particular and learn to control the alignment of key points relative to the axis of symmetry.
Lesson 5
Ragdoll Kitten. Part 2
Will learn how to work in stages so that the watercolor does not spread in different directions. The result will be soft and transparent, but at the same time realistic.
Lesson 6
Shiba Inu. Part 1
Will practice creating a drawing from general to particular. You will learn to control the alignment of key points relative to the axis of symmetry, find out why Irina makes tonal beacons with a pencil and see how to turn them into a part of the work.
Lesson 7
Shiba Inu. Part 2
Will learn how to depict dense fur (double coat). You will see how to show contour lighting without losing the shape of the head, picture a wet nose and lively eyes. You will also learn how to apply a bright color layer with gradual transitions from one color to another.

Conclusion
A summary of all techniques from the instructor.

- 100% cotton watercolor paper, fin, 28х38 cm.
- Brushes: a round brush with a sharp tip, a flat brush (not very wide, made of synthetic or mixed squirrel), a liner, a thin brush for details, a flute for wetting the paper, a flute for big washes, fan/big soft brush/flute/flat soft brush for leveling washes
