This course is dedicated to painting children – the most gracious, cute, and charming creatures in the world!
How to make correct anatomy and proportions? How to choose the right skin tone in various lighting conditions? How to paint a child’s face from different angles and with complicated expressions? Our instructor Anna Ivanova will answer all these questions and help you achieve a great result!
Together with Anna, you will make 3 sunny portraits of lovely children, learn to avoid common portrait painting mistakes, and put a special emphasis on creating effective backgrounds. The course will refine your painting skills, give you lots of positive emotions and useful advice!

An introduction to our learning platform and an overview of the materials used in this course.
Lesson 2

We will make a pencil drawing for the future portrait.
Lesson 3

We will train to convey a face expression, make a radiant skin tone and bright hair, add a complicated green background, and connect the main subject with the background.
Lesson 4

Pencil part
We will make a pencil drawing for the future portrait.
Lesson 5
A girl with a cherry blossom.
Watercolor part
We will practice to convey a face expression, paint complicated bright sunlight on the face and figure, and connect the child's figure with flowers and background.
Lesson 6
A child with sunflowers.
Pencil part
We will make a pencil drawing for the future portrait.
Lesson 7
A child with sunflowers.
Watercolor part
We will train to paint a backlit laughing child, make a sunny lighting, and add a complex background with sunflowers.

Conclusion
A summary of all techniques from the instructor.

for the course?
- Paints – any high-quality artistic paints in cuvettes or tubes (QoR Raw sienna, W&N Sepia, Shinhan Blue grey, Mijello Peacock blue)
- Brushes: (Natural Chinese calligraphic, Rigger Daler-Rowney, Chinese kolinski brush)
- Paper: cotton, 300 gsm, cold pressed. Brands: Sennelier, Hahnemuhle
(Sesame, Turner) - White plastic or ceramic palette
- Pencil, eraser
