In this lesson, you will see how to select reference photos for your portraits. Ibrahem will show you what a quality reference looks like and tell you which references will never make good paintings.

Brushes
A good portrait starts with suitable brushes. Ibrahem will share with you his set of brushes for portrait painting and show you how to use them.

Facial Structures
In the lesson, you will study facial proportions and see how to avoid the most common portrait drawing mistakes.
Lesson 4
Shadow
Here you will study different types of shadows and see how light interacts with a face. You will learn to create volume and contrast and make a tonal analysis of a painting.
Lesson 5
Sketching the Portrait
In this lesson, you will make a sketch for a future portrait using all the skills and knowledge you have already gained.
Lesson 6
Applying Base Colors
During the lesson, you will see how to apply base colors, saturate them and achieve a diversity of hues.
Lesson 7
Detalisation
Here you will continue working on the first portrait, adding bright contrasts and details and learning to make hard edges.
Lesson 8
Highlights and shine
In this lesson, you will learn to add highlights, make the skin of your model smooth and glowing, and refine a portrait.
Lesson 9
Final touches
Here you will complete the first portrait, strengthening contrasts, adding fine details and accents.
Lesson 10
Portrait Sketching Recap
During the lesson, you will make a sketch and apply base colors for the second portrait. You will practice the skills you've gained and learn to paint a more complex portrait.

Portrait Painting Recap
In the lesson, you will complete the second portrait, practicing to strengthen contrasts, add fine details and accents.
