How to make watercolor painting easy and clear? How to enjoy the process and create lovely scenes without too much detailing, how to make everything you depict beautiful using simple techniques? In our course, you will find answers to all these questions!
Together with Andy Evansen, you will make 2 great paintings, study and practice the most important nuances of watercolor art. You will learn to plan a good composition, prepare an accurate drawing, connect shapes, and deal with light and tonal values.
Andy’s course will perfectly suit those who are just starting to paint with watercolor and those who want to improve their painting skills. Our master will show you an easy way to render difficult subjects and help you feel watercolor medium, fall in love with it, and make amazing works even if you are at the very beginning of your creative journey!

Making Washes
We will learn to apply color, mix different shades, and get the needed amount of water on a brush

Understanding the Color
We will learn to change colors on a brush and get harmonious shades

Color Intensity
We will learn to create smooth color transitions and achieve various color intensity

Soft and Hard Edges
We will learn to create soft and hard edges, join shapes together, and simplify them

Tonal Values
We will learn to deal with tonal values and make negative shapes

Color Mixing
We will learn to mix colors and get various shades right on the paper

Farm House
In this lesson we will talk about how to paint simple tree shapes. We will learn placing strong color in first light wash

In this lesson we will talk about merging colors and values. Using a background shape to create a negative light shape. Lifting paint for light reflections. Simplifying details

- Andy Evansen began painting watercolors in the mid-1990s as a change of pace from his career as a medical illustrator
- He is a Signature Member of AWS, PAPA, RRWS, TWSA
- He became a Signature Member of the prestigious Plein Air Painters of America (PAPA) in 2012 and served as their President from 2015-2017
