Light and Atmosphere in Watercolor: From Quick Sketches to Emotional Landscapes
Discover Amid El Haddad’s signature method of combining structure and emotion while creating 4 expressive light-filled watercolors
LIFETIME ACCESS |
In this carefully guided journey, you’ll discover how to paint light itself – not objects, but the mood, depth, and quiet poetry that light brings to every scene. With each brushstroke, you’ll learn to express more by doing less, and to bring out the soul of a place through shadow, timing, and structure.
Led by the brilliant Amid El Haddad – an artist celebrated for blending architectural clarity with impressionistic beauty – this course is a step-by-step system designed to help you paint with purpose and freedom. Amid’s unique method begins with a clear plan and ends with light-filled paintings that breathe with life.
By the end, you’ll not only have completed 4 paintings that each reveal light in a different way – winter light, evening glow, soft reflections, and more – but you’ll also walk away with your painting process. One that is thoughtful, freeing, and truly your own.
This course will suit artists who already have basic watercolor painting skills and want to:
Learn to simplify scenes and paint with freshness – even if you tend to get stuck in perfectionism
Gain practical skills to paint light, shadow, and atmosphere with confidence
Follow a clear process instead of guessing, getting a reliable, step-by-step structure
Move beyond technical exercises – and start expressing mood, emotion, and story through your watercolors

Terrilynn Dubreuil
Watercolor artist

«I have painted with watercolor since my Fine Art classes at the University and I started teaching it soon after and have taught it ever since. I love the fresh, flowing approach to the medium.
Watercolor gives me an oblique strategy approach to art because one has to to approach it in an almost „opposite“ way of thinking from other media. It keeps my brain active! I use watercolor a lot for studies, plein air sketches, and underpaintings for my pastel paintings.»
- Degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude, with augmented Master level courses.
