Characters of various trees
Learn how to distinguish and transmit in a pencil sketch different shapes of trees
A birch tree study
Examine a birch tree in a park and make a sketch of the tree`s fragment with a hint of a background and a focus on lighting on a cloudy day.
A pine tree study
Pay attention to the texture, lighting and the character of the tree trying to obtain the effect of branches with needles without definition.
A willow tree with a background
Integrate a willow tree with a simplified background trying to get the character of the tree.
A pencil study of a stump
Learn to integrate the object with the background and to get a convincing shape.
A study of a stump
Examine a semi-abstract shape of a stump and experiment with textures and different types of strokes.
A fir tree
with a background
Learn to integrate the fir tree with a simplified background, make different green blends, transmit the texture of the branches and get dark but transparent values in shadows
A study of the sky and clouds
Learn the ways of painting sky, order of the color washes, basic shapes to be better prepared when we go to paint outdoors.
A sketch of the sky with clouds
We will paint a quick sketch of the sky learning the tonal relationships and soft and hard edges. We will oppose the darker tone of the trees to the basically light tone of the sky.
Early Spring in a Park
Transmit a feeling of awakening nature, bright spring sunlight, various types of trees and bushes and their reflection in a lake; learn to paint without a hairdryer planning the drying parts in advance.

Which materials do you need
for the course?
Minimum set: watercolor paper in a block, watercolor paints, a pencil, an eraser, a knife to cut the paper and sharpen a pencil, a container for water, a set of brushes, paper towel, wax crayon, a folding chair, a bottle of water;
Comfort set: an easel or a tripod with a shelf for paints and water, watercolor paper, a hard board to fix the paper, a paper tape to fix the paper on a board, watercolor paints, a set of brushes, a pencil, an eraser, paper towel, wax crayon, a container for water, a bottle of water.
