1. "Rusty Lock", where you’ll learn how to depict rust on metal, wooden textures, cracks, and cuts using various techniques.
2. "Shoes", where you’ll master the art of creating interesting leather textures and an aged effect, utilizing subtle details, simple background washes, and new techniques.
You’ll work with different tools beyond just paper, brushes, and paint. You’ll discover how to convey the essence of an object and its story. Get ready to explore new approaches and fall in love with experimenting!

- Participant of many exhibitions and art projects in Russia and abroad, including "Masters of Watercolor" in St. Petersburg and "Fabriano Acquarello" in Italy.
- More than 20 years of watercolor painting experience.
- More than 20 years of teaching practice.
- For more than 10 years, Tatiana has been conducting plein-airs and workshops all over the world.
- Tatiana also conducts painting demos at watercolor exhibitions and stationary classes in her studio in St. Petersburg

Welcome to the course "Textures and Surfaces in Watercolor"! Here, you'll learn to create stunning effects quickly, easily, and with a playful touch.

Materials and tools for the course
In this lesson, we'll go over the list of materials needed for the "Textures and Surfaces in Watercolor" course.
Lesson 3
Painting "Rusty Lock". Part 1
In this lesson, we'll plan the composition and sketch the outline with pencil to capture the volume and shape of the lock. You'll learn how to balance the composition, add beauty and complexity to a simple object, and indicate the thickness of the item.
Lesson 4
Painting "Rusty Lock". Part 2
We'll focus on creating the rust effect on the metal hinge, work with tones, and add volume and thickness using color.
Lesson 5
Painting "Rusty Lock". Part 3
We'll add depth and realism to the painting by working on perspective, bringing the lock and door handle into the foreground. We'll highlight details with white paint in a subtle and natural way.
Lesson 6
Painting "Shoes". Part 1
We'll create a sketch of the shoes, plan the composition to capture the proportions of the pair. The result will be a unique depiction of old leather shoes, emphasizing their distinct texture and details.
