An introduction to our learning platform and an overview of the materials used in this course.

Monochrome with color accents. We will learn how to use primary color accents in a monochrome image, to find various approaches for the texture of old stones, and to achieve a balance of busy texture and empty space.

Red and Brown – warm segment with strong highlights. We will see how to balance red and brown, to use strong highlights, and to obtain a sketchlike style by leaving white paper.

Muted tints of cool segment with warm accents. We will learn how to transfer Mediterranean sky-water relationship, to depict reflecting water surface, to use all range of tones from the white of paper to the darkest accents, and drop unnecessary details.

Yellow-blue-green – 2 primary and one secondary color between them. We will train to balance saturated colors, to depict the volume of the round objects, to give a hint of the background without painting it from one corner to another, and to transfer the effect of the sharp sunlight.

Turquoise in its full strength with black and white. We will learn how to make an active colorful background, to support the saturated color with tonal contrast of black and white, to depict the character of the figures in gesture, and to combine details and empty space in balance.

Pastel shades harmony. We will practice using pastel colors for the effect of morning light, combine wet and dry approaches, and use only one highlight to organize an empty space.
